TL;DR The 30-second version
  • We teach WordPress to Los Angeles businesses and site owners live, over Zoom, on your own website — not on a classroom demo site.
  • Sessions book in Pacific time, in one- to four-hour blocks, at $85 an hour, with the recording sent the next day.
  • Teams train together at group rates. Agencies handing over sites to clients can white-label the same training.
  • If you want a room and other people, Los Angeles has excellent free WordPress meetups. We list them below.

If you run a website in Los Angeles, the odds are good that it runs on WordPress and that somebody else built it. A designer in Silver Lake, an agency in Culver City, a freelancer who has since moved to Austin. You have a login, a page builder you did not choose, and a list of changes you keep meaning to make.

This page is for that person, and for the Los Angeles business that has three people editing a site three different ways. We have taught WordPress for 13 years, first in classrooms around Washington, DC and now entirely online, and a growing share of the people we teach are in Southern California. Here is how that works, what it costs, and when a local class genuinely suits you better.

Your options for WordPress training in Los Angeles

There are three, and they are not interchangeable.

The national training chains. Several of them list a Los Angeles WordPress class. What you get is a one- or two-day course, taught from a demo installation, priced per seat at several hundred dollars and sometimes over a thousand. The instructor is competent, the material is general, and your own site stays at home. That is fine if you want a survey of the platform. It is the wrong purchase if your problem is that nothing on your screen matches any tutorial you have found.

The community. Los Angeles has one of the healthiest WordPress meetup scenes in the country, and it is free. If you learn best around other people, start there. Details further down.

Live training on your own website. An instructor over screen share, working inside your dashboard, with your theme and your plugins and your half-finished homepage on screen. You drive, we talk you through it, and the recording arrives the next day. This is what we do, and for most Los Angeles site owners it is the one that actually solves the problem they searched for.

How live online training works from Los Angeles

The mechanics are simpler than people expect.

You tell us what you need to be able to do

Three or four concrete things. "Update the menu, swap the hero image on the homepage, and add a new team member" beats "learn WordPress". This list becomes the agenda.

We book a Pacific-time slot

Morning or afternoon, Monday to Friday, with some early evenings. You need a browser, a Zoom link, and administrator access to your site. If you do not have access yet, say so and we provide a practice site instead.

You share your screen and do the work

The right way around is you clicking and us talking, because the goal is that you can do it on Thursday when nobody is watching. By the end of the hour the real page is done, not an exercise.

The recording arrives the next day

Along with written steps for anything fiddly. When the task comes around again in six weeks, you replay the exact thing that was done on your own site.

The East Coast instructor is a feature, not a bug

Our instructor works from the Eastern time zone. An early Eastern start is a normal Los Angeles morning, and Eastern evenings land in your afternoon. In practice, Los Angeles clients get a wider spread of slots than East Coast clients do.

What Los Angeles clients tend to bring us

The city has a particular mix of WordPress problems, and after a few years of teaching people here we can list them.

The handed-over agency site. Built by a Los Angeles agency or freelancer, often on Elementor, Divi or a custom theme, and delivered with a login and a good-luck. Owner wants to edit it without breaking it. One or two hours on the actual site usually covers the page builder, the parts of the theme that are safe to touch, and the parts that are not.

The portfolio and the small studio. Photographers, actors, production companies, designers, architects. The site is the business card. The questions are about galleries, video, speed, and making the thing look right on a phone.

The restaurant, the practice, the shop. Menus, hours, reservations, appointment booking, a WooCommerce store that somebody set up and nobody understands. These sessions are practical and short.

The nonprofit. Los Angeles has thousands, and most of them have a WordPress site maintained by whoever volunteered last. Training two people together, so the knowledge survives the next turnover, is the best hour these organizations can spend.

The team that edits three different ways. A marketing department, a school, a property management office. The value here is not the WordPress instruction, it is standardization: after training, everyone does it the same way, and the recording becomes the onboarding for the next hire.

If you are not sure which of those you are, the WordPress training guide covers how to think about it. If you already know, tell us what the site is built with and we will suggest a length.

Southern California clients

Client quotes — pending

Placeholder. Two Southern California client testimonials go here once permission is confirmed: one Los Angeles-area business (city and role, first name or company), one other California client. Keep each to two or three sentences and lead with the specific problem that was solved.

Team training for Los Angeles businesses and agencies

A group session over Zoom is the cheapest way to train a team, and it gets cheaper per person with every seat. Everyone hears everyone else's questions, which in a team setting is most of the point. Remote staff in San Diego or the Bay Area attend on the same footing as the people in the Los Angeles office. Team sessions are scoped and quoted individually, because "train our team" means something different at four people than at forty.

For a Los Angeles team that specifically wants an instructor in the room, an on-site day can be quoted. We will tell you honestly if we think online would serve you better, and it usually does.

Los Angeles agencies have a different need: handing a finished site to a client who has never used WordPress. White-label WordPress training puts the course library inside the client's own dashboard under your branding, so the handover comes with training you did not have to record.

If you want a room and other people, these are the real thing, and they cost nothing to join. They are volunteer-run community groups, not ours, so check each one's page for current dates.

A meetup and a training session do different jobs. The meetup shows you what is possible and puts you among people who use the software. The training session gets your specific site fixed. Most people benefit from both, in that order.

Areas we serve

Because the training is online, "serve" means "have a time slot for". We regularly work with clients in Downtown Los Angeles, the Westside, Santa Monica, Venice, Culver City, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Silver Lake, Pasadena, Glendale, Burbank, the San Fernando Valley, Long Beach, the South Bay, Torrance, and across Orange County including Irvine, Anaheim and Huntington Beach. San Diego and the Inland Empire book on the same terms.

There is no Los Angeles premium, because there is no travel, no venue and no parking in the price. The honest comparison for an $85 hour is not the $29 subscription. It is the afternoon you would otherwise spend searching, or the emergency rate of the developer you call after something breaks.

How to start

Start free if you are new

The free WordPress training covers the fundamentals at no cost, and the free WordPress manual is the printable version. Spend money only when you hit something they cannot reach.

Book an hour if you inherited a site

Skip the free material. It is the one case where starting free reliably wastes more time than it saves, because no course covers your predecessor's decisions. Book a session or call (844) WP-TUTOR.

Talk to us if it is a team

Tell us how many people, what the site is built with, and what they need to be able to do. You will get a straight quote and a suggested length.

"WordPress training near me" was the right search in Los Angeles in 2012. In 2026, the best trainer for your site is on a Zoom call, working in your dashboard, and available at 8 a.m. Pacific.

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer in-person WordPress classes in Los Angeles?
Our training is live over Zoom, taught on your own website rather than a classroom demo site, and it has replaced the in-person classes we used to run. For a Los Angeles team that specifically wants a trainer in the room, an on-site day can be quoted. For everyone else, online is the better product: same instructor, your real site, a recording afterwards, and no drive across the 405.
What hours are available for Los Angeles clients?
Morning and afternoon Pacific-time slots, Monday to Friday, with some early-evening availability. Our instructor is on the East Coast, which works in your favor: an early Eastern start is an ordinary Los Angeles morning, and Eastern evenings cover a Los Angeles afternoon.
How much does WordPress training cost in Los Angeles?
Live one-on-one training is $85 an hour, booked in one- to four-hour blocks, with the session recording sent the next day. Team training is quoted on group size and topics. The self-paced course library is free for 54 of 65 courses, and $99 once for all of them. There is no Los Angeles surcharge, because there is no travel.
Can you train our whole team at a Los Angeles company?
Yes. We train marketing teams, content editors, administrators and owners together over Zoom, on your live site or a safe practice copy. Everyone hears everyone else's questions, the recording onboards the next hire, and remote staff in other offices attend on equal terms.
Which areas do you serve?
All of Los Angeles County and Orange County — Downtown, the Westside, Santa Monica, Pasadena, Burbank, Glendale, the San Fernando Valley, Long Beach, the South Bay, Irvine and Anaheim — plus San Diego and the Inland Empire. Because sessions are online, the only thing your location changes is the time slot.
Is there free WordPress training in Los Angeles?
Yes, two kinds. Los Angeles has an active set of free WordPress meetups, several of which livestream. And our own free WordPress training — over 230 written tutorials, 54 free video courses and a free PDF manual — costs nothing and needs no account to read.
I inherited a WordPress site from a Los Angeles agency. Can you help?
This is the most common reason people in Los Angeles book us. The agency built it, handed over a login, and moved on. A one-hour session on your actual site usually sorts out the theme, the page builder, and the three things you need to be able to change without calling anyone.
