Adding a Quote in Gutenberg- WordPress 5.0

Learn how to add a Quote block in the WordPress Gutenberg editor to give quoted text visual emphasis, plus text alignment and formatting options.

A quote block allows you to give quoted text visual emphasis.  This is a great way to show visual difference in your content and make reading more interesting.

Step 1- Hover your mouse over the Add Block icon (the plus sign in the upper left hand corner within the Gutenberg editor). Scroll to Common Blocks. Select Quote.

Step 2- The quote block  will appear. You’ll be prompted to add your quote.

Step 3- The sub menu above the block will allow you to change the text alignment and text formatting of your quote. The block menu on the right allows you to further customize how the quote will be shown on your page.
